Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy for Women:

What do women want?
Health, strength, and longevity!

As women age, hormone levels naturally decrease, causing the symptoms associated with menopause and affecting many other areas of the body and mind. Many women also experience an increase in abdominal fat due to a loss of estrogen, which has also been shown to increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis. Estrogen also reduces plaque in the brain, lowering the incidence of Alzheimer’s disease, as well as decreasing the risk of colorectal cancer, cataracts, and macular degeneration, among other diseases.

While it’s normal to experience a loss of mental sharpness, endurance, libido, emotional well-being, physical health, or defenses against illness, the good news is that most of these natural symptoms can be prevented or reduced with the right proactive steps. FitMed offers women safe, natural, and medically accepted Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT). Targeted to prevent disease, combat the symptoms of age, manage mood and improve weight management, FitMed’s female BHRT programs are specifically customized to your body.

Natural treatment for changing hormone levels

We offer women safe, natural hormonal therapy to counteract the impacts of menopause and other hormonal deficiencies.

Women have become cautious about hormone replacement therapy due to ongoing research that has demonstrated that the use of synthetic hormone replacement has led to worrisome adverse side effects and additional health problems such as such as breast swelling and tenderness, uterine bleeding, depression, weight gain, bloating, and edema. But unlike synthetic estrogen and progesterone, which have been found to dramatically increase the risk of breast cancer, the use of natural hormones does not increase breast cancer risk (as reported by Breast Cancer Research & Treatment in 2007). FitMed will start you with a BHRT clinical profile. Instead of the one-size-fits-all hormone pellet approach, Dr. Bright McConnell personally modulates and manages your hormone levels. Manage your metabolism

As women age, few escape the common weight gain that each new decade tends to bring as metabolism levels slow down. Many women also experience discomfort related to fluctuating hormone levels that can cause hot flashes, night sweats, and mood swings, in addition to a decreased libido.

We’re not promising an anti-aging cure or miracle weight loss program, but there are many things we can do through nutrition, natural hormone management, and enhanced fitness to reduce the negative effects of age-related weight gain and to help you enjoy a healthier, more energetic life

What is menopause?

Menopause is defined as the time when a woman ceases menstruation, caused by the natural decline in ovarian function and a corresponding decrease in hormone levels. For most women, natural menopause begins between the ages of 45 and 55, although it can occur as early as in the thirties or as late as in the sixties. Until a woman is considered menopausal (12 months after her last period), she is considered perimenopausal. This is the phase where most women experience the most significant side effects of this transition: night sweats, hot flashes, mood swings, weight gain, “brain fog,” anxiety, loss of skin tone, vaginal dryness, and urinary tract infections. Once a woman has become menopausal and hormone levels have leveled out, some of these symptoms may subside, though for some this may take more time than others. During this phase and beyond, hormone optimization can help to return hormones to their clinically appropriate levels.

What are the benefits of hormone supplementation therapy for women?

Beyond offsetting many of the typical symptoms of menopause and getting back to a normal, healthy life, hormonal optimization can help offset the chance of developing osteoporosis, as loss of estrogen has been associated with a drop in bone mass. Further, women who take estrogen early after the onset of menopause have been shown to significantly cut their risk of heart disease. Also, estrogen supplementation can increase insulin sensitivity, which can ward off adult onset diabetes. A recent Nurses’ Health Study showed women had a 20 percent decrease in the incidence of diabetes among those who took estrogen.
